There was a little bit of excitement Saturday afternoon in Yates Center prior to the Yates Center Days Parade,
The Yates Center Police Department reports just after 2 :30 PM a Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper conducted a traffic stop on Madison near Main. In the process of the stop it developed one of the people in that vehicle had an outstanding arrest warrant.
This person declined to cooperate and the trooper asked for help from the local brothers in blue. The person then tried to flee, but after being tased they taken into custody without further incident. The Woodson County Sheriff’s Office also helped with on-scene security.
This did cause a slight delay in the parade and an alteration to the parade lineup.
