The Red Team defeated the Blue Team 26-24, 25-27, 19-25, 27-25, 15-11 in the Kansas Volleyball Association All-Star Match Saturday at Washburn University’s Whiting Fieldhouse in Topeka.
The Red Team featured Halstead High School’s Katharine Engel, Nickerson’s Delaney Childs, Little River’s Arika Feldman, McPherson’s Ava Romero, Ellinwood’s Regan Widener, Ellsworth’s Elyse Haxton, Olathe West’s Neely Leathers, Washburn Rural’s Stella Kelly, Silver Lake’s Paige Heiman, Mill Valley’s Olivia Nzioki, Emporia’s Jade Xu and Gardner-Edgerton’s Hayden Meats, Topeka Hayden’s Ella Foster.
Feldman is the Kansas Class 1A Division I Player of the Year and Widener is the Class 2A Player of the Year.
The Red Team head coach was Holton’s Kristel Bontrager. The assistant coaches were Linn’s Amy Bott and Hays High’s Shannon Funk.
The Blue Team featured Buhler High School’s Emerson Waldren, McPherson’s Brooke Doile, Garden Plain’s Reese Stuhlsatz, Ellinwood’s Kyndal Moore, Greeley County’s Jadence Stewart, Blue Valley North’s Jaden Goldberg, Olathe Northwest’s Emma Parker, Blue Valley West’s Carlie Pandjaris, Olathe West’s Cami Sher, Rock Creek’s Brynna Zoeller, Shawnee Heights’ Avery Willey and Valley Heights’ Ava Smith.
The Blue Team head coach was Jefferson County North’s David Schuler. Assistants were Rock Creek’s Alli Snapp and Manhattan’s Nicole Jones.
