Andale Track and Field Sweeps Clearwater Invitational Team Championships

CLEARWATER, Kan. — The Andale track and field teams swept the Clearwater Invitational team championships on Friday. 

The Andale girls won the meet with 160 points, 71 points ahead of Garden Plain. The Andale boys won the meet with 209 points, 144 points ahead of Clearwater

On the girls side on the track, Rylee Meyer won the 200-meter dash in 25.32. Meyer also claimed gold in the 300m hurdles (45.20). Kate Eck won the 800m in 2:29.51, while Ali Winter was second (2:30.19). The 4x400m relay team finished third in 4:12.20. In the field events, Hally Horsch won the pole vault clearing 10-9, while Bailey Bretthauer finished second (9-9). Meyer finished second in the long jump (17-11.5). Sydney Walter was second in the triple jump (35-2). Paige Brand took second in the discus (115-7), while Reagan Winter was third (114-9). Brand won the hammer throw with a mark of 108-11.  Abbey McNeal finished third in the high jump (5-0). McNeal claimed gold in the javelin (125-7) while Kinley Spexarth took second (122-9). Brand finished second in the shot put (35-5.25). 

On the boys side on the track, Brody Kelp won the 100m in 11.27, beating out teammate Wyatt Lockhart by .01. Lockhart claimed gold in the 200m (23.00). Roman Lubbers finished second in the 800m (2:02.75). Parker Lies won the 110m hurdles (15.11) with Trey Hommertzheim taking third (16.02). Hommertzheim finished third in the 300m hurdles (41.83). Both the 4x100m (43.48) and 4x400m (3:32.71) relay teams claimed gold. In the field events, Lane Parthemer won the long jump (21-1). Ethan Eck won the triple jump (44-0.5). Andale went 1-2-3 in the pole vault with Colt Lane taking first (15-3). Hudson Tankersley finished second (14-3) and Lincoln Rempel took third (13-3). Andale also went 1-2-3 in the discus with Hunter Grimes winning the event (153-8). Matthew Braaten was second (150-7) and Brayden Spexarth took third (145-6). Braaten won the hammer throw (179-2 and Spexarth was second (171-2). Spexarth won the javelin (176-1) with Grimes taking second (169-11). Grimes claimed another gold in the shot put (51-2). 

Andale travels to Hutchinson on Friday.
