Andale Track and Field Sweeps Team Championships at Hutchinson Invitational Friday

The Andale track and field teams swept the team championships at the Hutchinson Invitational at Gowans Stadium on Friday. 

The Andale girls won with 167.5 points, winning the meet by 68.5 points over Garden City. The Andale boys won with 161 points, 86 points over Dodge City. 

On the girls side, Rylee Meyer won the 200m (24.96), took second in the 100m (12.10), and third in the long jump (17-0). Paige Brand won the discus with a throw of 125-8.50. Kinley Spexarth won the javelin with a throw of 137-1. Bailey Bretthauer won the pole vault, clearing 10-6, while Hally Horsch also cleared 10-6 and took third. The 4x400m relay team of Mayla Spexarth, Maleah Spexarth, Chloe Eck and Rylee Winter won the event in 4:09.94. Abbey McNeal took second in the high jump (5-0) and also finished second in the javelin (131-3). Ayvah Banda finished second in the 3,200m (12:19.99), while Miriam Mazzarelli took third (12:26.22). The 4x800m relay team of Banda, Kate Eck, Ali Winter and Rylee Winter finished third (10:42.31). 

On the boys side, Colt Lane won the pole vault, clearing 14-0. Ethan Eck won the triple jump with a mark of 43-2. Brayden Spexarth won the javelin with a throw of 189-2. Hunter Grimes had three top 3 finishes, winning the discus (156-11), second in the javelin (170-0) and third in the shot put (49-1). Lane Parthemer took second in the long jump (20-3). Roman Lubbers finished second in the 1,600m (4:29.04). Lane Martin was the runner-up in the 800m (2:00.24). Jack Cutler took second in the 3,200m (9:58.37). The 4x800m relay team of Carter Bishop, Cutler, Toben Easter and Rhett Romero took second (8:26.16). The 4x400m relay team of Wyatt Becker, Brody Kelp, Easter and Martin finished second (3:27.89). Matthew Braaten was third in the discus (149-7). Kelp took third in the 300m hurdles (40.45). 

Andale travels to Goddard on Friday.
