LYONS, Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce Lyons High School senior Paco Espinoza as this week’s Athlete of the Week, presented by Hutchinson Community College.
The week – Espinoza had two strong performances. On Tuesday in a 53-51 loss at Minneapolis, Espinoza scored 15 points, hitting a trio of 3-pointers. He added six rebounds, two steals and one assist. Friday, Espinoza was even better in a 62-52 win over Larned, as Espinoza scored a career-high 23 points, to go with 10 rebounds, five steals and three assists.
The season – Espinoza, a senior, is averaging 12.3 points and 6 rebounds a game. He regularly fills up the stat sheet in other areas too, as he has 20 steals, 17 assists and four blocked shots for the 4-5 Lions.
