Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce Eli Gaeddert, upcoming senior at Goessel High School this year, as this week’s Athlete of the Week, presented by Hutchinson Community College.
The week – Gaeddert swept the distance races at the Class 1A state track and field meet on May 29-30 at Wichita State. On Friday evening, Gaeddert won the 3,200 meters in a time of 9 minutes, 50.42 seconds. The next afternoon, Gaeddert won the 1,600 in a time of 4:26.62. Gaeddert also finished fourth in the 800. In those three races, Gaeddert gathered 25 team points, which was enough to place Goessel in seventh.
The season – Gaeddert’s 3,200 time at state was his season best. In the 1,600, his best time was 4:23.5 set on April 24, where he also set a PR in the 800 (2:00.1). Gaeddert will be a senior this upcoming year at Goessel and plans to run in college.
