Light, image, projection – even in the digital age the big screen still captures our attention like stories told around the campfire. Coming up this Saturday in Wichita, the Salt City Film Festival will be held on the big screen at Boulevard Theatres.
Some 150 short films and documentaries were submitted and 28 films made the cut as the Salt City Film Festival grows into its 3rd official season.
Festival Director, Bobby Obermite, who is the HutchCC Media and Film Program Coordinator says he’s been very impressed with the turnout and quality of this year’s offerings. “Just phenomenal,” Obermite said.
“The twenty eight films we’re showing are just such high quality, such good stories, the production value, everything.”
Obermite added the availability of high-end cameras and editing equipment have been a game changer for small independent creatives. “It’s a really good time to be an independent filmmaker,” he said.
Salt City Film Festival is Saturday September, 26th in Wichita at the Boulevard Theatres, tickets are sold in blocks at the door for $10 or an all day pass for $20.
