With beautiful weather and a strong turnout, this year’s tournament raised $16,000 for Patriots’ Village, supporting its efforts to expand housing opportunities for Veterans in Reno County.
“The turnout for this year’s tournament was tremendous, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day,” said Chris Duskin, Event Chairman. “What makes this event especially rewarding is seeing so many people come together around a shared purpose. We’re grateful to every golfer, sponsor, donor, and volunteer who helped make it such a success.”
Patriots’ Village is working to develop a small-home community in South Hutchinson designed to provide safe, stable transitional housing for Veterans experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Plans for the development include housing for up to 16 Veterans, as well as a community building where residents can connect with counseling, employment assistance, Veterans benefits, and other supportive resources.
The $16,000 contribution from this year’s Veterans Golf Classic will help Patriots’ Village move closer to bringing that vision to life.
“Our Veterans Committee is passionate about finding meaningful ways to honor and support those who have served our country,” said Cindy Naab, Chair of the HRHS Veterans Committee. “Patriots’ Village represents an opportunity to make a lasting difference right here in our community by helping Veterans have access to safe housing, resources, and the support they need to move forward. We are incredibly proud that this year’s tournament will help support that mission.”
The Veterans Golf Classic is one of several initiatives led by the HRHS Veterans Committee to recognize and support Veterans throughout the organization and surrounding community. What began as an annual golf tournament has continued to grow through the support of local businesses, organizations, team members, golfers, and volunteers who share a commitment to giving back to those who have served.
HRHS extends its sincere appreciation to every sponsor, participant, donor, and volunteer who contributed to the success of the 3rd Annual Veterans Golf Classic and helped make this year’s $16,000 contribution to Patriots’ Village possible.
