Sterling scored five first-quarter touchdowns and rolled to a 62-0 win over Ellinwood on Friday night at Sterling.
Zac Wohler opened the scoring with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Jacob Lewis. Deryn Maxwell scored twice in the opening quarter, on runs of 1 and 43 yards, while Lewis added a 59-yard touchdown run.
With a running clock beginning in the second quarter, Sterling took a 49-0 lead into halftime, capped by a Shade Carter 33-yard interception return for a touchdown on the final play of the half.
Sterling improved to 6-0 and travels to Syracuse next week for a 6 p.m. kickoff. Ellinwood will face Medicine Lodge.
