The community of Parker will celebrate Parker Days Sept. 18-20 with a weekend of activities, entertainment and family fun. This year’s theme is “Stars, Stripes, and Good Times,” with events scheduled throughout the community and at Heritage Park unless otherwise noted.
The celebration begins Friday, Sept. 18, with a Masons Fish Fry at the Mason Building beginning at 5 p.m. The meal will be available for a free-will donation.
Saturday’s activities begin with breakfast at the Fire Department from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Vendor setup, the Masons Car Show and the main parade will follow, with the parade scheduled for 11 a.m. Parade participants must register at Parker Elementary by 10:15 a.m. to be eligible for judging.
A variety of activities will continue throughout Saturday, including the museum from noon to 4 p.m., a baby contest for children ages 0-24 months at the Shelter House, free rides and inflatables, a horseshoe pitching tournament and free kids’ games. A Frozen T-shirt Contest is scheduled for 3 p.m., followed by Los Tres Pollitos food truck and vendors.
Saturday evening will feature the Parker Days Royalty Grand Prize and Quilt Drawing at 6:30 p.m., followed by live music from Savannah Chestnut from 8 to 11 p.m. Quilt blocks must be turned in at the library by 4 p.m. Friday.
The celebration concludes Sunday, Sept. 20, with a fishing derby at Parker Lake. Registration begins at 3:30 p.m., with fishing from 4 to 5 p.m., followed by snacks and prizes.
