KINGMAN, Kan. – The Color Run is one of the largest in south central Kansas and has attendees from all around the state. As of September 1, 2026, there are 450+ registered attendees and 21 vendor tables. The vendor tables will bring valuable resources to the community for mental health support, addiction treatment options, and suicide prevention information and resources. Rural Kansas counties have slightly higher rates of suicide per the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Thus, it is even more important for the smaller counties to rally and educate the public. If you or someone you know is suffering from suicidal thoughts, please call or text 988. They have a host of services to assist you and your loved ones.
KHC employs 150 full-time staff and offers hundreds of services to the local area. Kingman Healthcare Center is a 25-bed critical access hospital with 24-hour emergency room, inpatient and outpatient services and two-family practice clinics, one in Kingman and one in Cunningham.
