HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce will host a Candidate Forum on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the 1861 Club, located at 212 Cottonwood Ave. on the Kansas State Fairgrounds. The forum will begin at 5:30 p.m.
The forum will provide an opportunity for voters to hear directly from candidates running in the November 3, 2026, General Election. The event is free and open to the public.
Debra Teufel, President and CEO of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce, will serve as moderator. Candidates will have the opportunity to make opening and closing statements, respond to questions during a moderated question-and-answer period, and offer rebuttals as appropriate.
Questions for the forum will be developed through the Chamber’s Public Policy Committee. Community members may submit questions for consideration in advance by emailing [email protected].
Candidates have been invited from the following races:
- United States Senate: Sen. Roger Marshall (R) and Adam Hamilton (D)
- United States House of Representatives: Rep. Tracey Mann (R) and Lauren Reinhold (D)
- Kansas Governor: Cindy Holscher (D) and Ty Masterson (R)
- Kansas House of Representatives District 101: Mary Ann Harmon (D) and Kevin O’Brien (R)
- Kansas House of Representatives District 102: Rep. Kyler Sweely (R) and Jason Probst (D)
- Kansas House of Representatives District 104: Lynnette Krieger-Zook (D) and Randy Parks (R)
- Kansas House of Representatives District 114: Rep. Kevin Schwertfeger (R) and Alan Albers (D)
- Reno County Commission District 1: Carol Moore (D) and Mike Sullivan (R)
As of September 24, candidates who have confirmed their participation include Lauren Reinhold, Mary Ann Harmon, Kevin O’Brien, Rep. Kyler Sweely, Jason Probst, Lynnette Krieger-Zook, Randy Parks, Rep. Kevin Schwertfeger, Alan Albers, Carol Moore and Mike Sullivan. Ty Masterson has declined the invitation to participate. Candidate responses may continue to change as the October 6 forum approaches.
The Chamber encourages its more than 720 business members and community residents to attend the forum, hear from the candidates and become informed about the issues and priorities that will appear on the November 3rd ballot.
