Rice County law enforcement agencies responded Friday afternoon to what turned out to be a swatting incident late Friday afternoon.
The Rice County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement officers responded about 4 PM to the 400 block of East Main for what appears to be a false report of a critical incident.
At this time there is no known danger to the public .
The statement said the Sheriff’s Office appreciates the quick response from all involved agencies and patience of the Community while officers worked to ensure the scene will be safe.
There has been a rash of swatting incidents around the country including an incident last month where swatting calls were made involving several schools in southeast Kansas.
