Some bad news for swimmers in Yates Center.
The Yates Center Swimming Pool’s main circulation pump has failed and needs to be replaced, a very expensive to do.
Because of this, the opening of the pool for the season has been delayed, and in a worst case scenario the pool will not open until the first weekend in June.
Also, due to this unexpected expense, the Yates Center City Council has made the decision to charge regular admission this year.
That said, businesses and individuals are more than welcome to sponsor swimmers. If you would be interested in that, contact the city office at 620-625-2118 for more information.
