HUTCHINSON, Kan. (July 25, 2025)– Reno County’s youth are facing urgent challenges, including increased mental health struggles and a heightened risk of substance use. According to 2025 Kansas Communities That Care (KCTC) survey data, teens in Reno County report these issues at rates higher than the state average for five consecutive years.

Rise Up Reno Prevention Network is calling on the community to step up—and swing into action. There’s still time to register or sponsor a hole at the upcoming Putting for Prevention Golf Tournament, an event dedicated to raising funds for local prevention efforts. All proceeds will go directly toward programs that support healthy, drug-free lifestyles for Reno County youth.

“This tournament is more than just a fun day on the course—it’s a chance to invest in our future,” said Lisa Orrison, “Every team that plays and every sponsor that steps up is helping to change the story for our youth.”
