McPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Senior Center will be temporarily closing starting Monday (7-28) in order to allow for some construction projects and remediation of mold in a contained area resulting from recent storms including the June 17th flood.
The construction part of the work will include installation of new carpeting in the foot care and bingo areas supported by a grant from the McPherson County Community Foundation, and a new commercial dishwashing line for Silver Spoon Cafe donated by the Jack Mathes family.
Senior Center Director Sally Scott said they anticipate being able to reopen an improved facility within a few weeks. Updates will be provided as available.
Bus services will continue to operate as usual, and they will have people in the office during business hours at 620-241-1848. Scott said they will also be working with their various groups once they know the extent of damage.
