The ReUse It Center in McPherson made two donations totaling $4,750 during April from purchases made at the store. $3,500 was donated to STEPMC and $1,250 was donated in support of Brush Up Mac.
STEPMC’s mission statement is to walk alongside people until they are out of poverty. STEPMC provides a framework for people to build relationships across economic and class lines. We form a community around those in poverty, foster connections, and create pathways of opportunity and success so that people can overcome poverty.
Brush Up Mac is a one-day event that brings volunteers to help low-income and senior homeowners with minor home repairs and yard cleanup. Homeowners who are physically or financially unable to make improvements to their homes benefit from this program. The McPherson Housing Coalition hosts this event, which took place last Saturday.
