July was warmer and drier than normal in the McPherson area, according to the National Weather Service.

McPherson averaged 81-point-6 degrees, about one degree above normal, with a high of 104 on July 28th. The city received just over two inches of rain, about half the normal amount.

Year-to-date rainfall is more than seven inches below normal, and most of McPherson County remains in moderate drought. The Weather Service says above-normal temperatures are likely this month.
