The Humboldt Cubs travelled to Neodesha to take on the Blue Streaks and fell short losing 55-22 on Friday.
The first quarter saw a touchdown from the Cubs but the Blue Streaks put up TDs of their own. The halftime score was 35-8 in favor of Neodesha, and the Blue Streaks would put up three more touchdowns in the second half. Humboldt just couldn’t make up the deficit, even though they would score two rushing touchdowns by Ty Shaughnessy and Mason Miller.
Mason Miller would get the play of the game with a TD in the 4th quarter and Weston Johnson would get the player of the game. Weston had 8+ tackles and a tackle for loss. His leadership on the O-line and D-line was evident.
Humboldt will host the Cherryvale Chargers on Friday October 16 at the Humboldt Sports Complex.
