The Humboldt Cubs hosted the Central Heights Vikings on Friday and won 42-27.
The game was just a one-point difference at halftime with the Cubs up 22-21. There was no scoring in the third quarter for either team, but the fourth quarter was a different story. Humboldt put up three touchdowns to the Vikings’ one, and would come out with a big district victory.
The player of the game was junior quarterback Ty Shaughnessy, who was responsible for all six touchdowns, with four passing and two rushing.
The Cubs will travel to Neodesha next Friday to take on the Blue Streaks.
