MCPHERSON, Kan. – Community members are invited to attend the McPherson Chamber of Commerce Civic Awareness Committee’s Candidate Forum on Thursday, July 30, from 7:00–8:00 p.m. at the American Legion, 401 N. Main, McPherson. This event offers voters an excellent opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking election to the McPherson County Commission before heading to the polls.
The forum will follow a question-and-answer format, providing candidates the opportunity to share their perspectives on issues important to county residents. Each candidate will begin with a three-minute opening statement highlighting their background, qualifications, and goals for serving on the Commission.
Attendees will be invited to submit written questions upon arrival. Questions will be reviewed for duplication, readability, and fairness, and each candidate will have one minute to respond.
Candidates invited to participate include Keith Becker and Stephen Gray, who are seeking the District 1 seat, and Tom Keuser, who is running unopposed for the District 2 position.
The McPherson Chamber of Commerce has a long tradition of hosting candidate forums as part of its commitment to civic engagement and voter education. While the Chamber does not endorse candidates or political parties, it is proud to provide a respectful, nonpartisan setting where candidates can share their views and citizens can make informed decisions.
