After the ballots were counted in this week’s primary election, voters in the Smoky Valley School District approved a $21 million bond issue for needed improvements. In addition the bond will fund the design and construction of a new agriculture wing on campus.

District leaders say the funding will pay for critical upgrades, including new roofing and heating and cooling systems, along with repairs to the school’s auditorium.

The bond will also pay for a new softball field and improvements to the track and football field shared with Bethany College.
