Hutchinson Police Officers Arrest 19 Year Old Male on Charges to Include Attempted First Degree Murder

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – On June 2nd, 2026, at 2:00 A.M., officers with the Hutchinson Police Department were dispatched to the 1400 block of North Prairie Street for the report of a subject, later identified as 19-year-old Teyton T. Savage Dobbins, attempting to force entry into an occupied residence with an axe. Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect had fled the area. At approximately 2:16 A.M., Mr. Savage Dobbins was located and taken into custody behind a residence in the 700 block of West 13th Ave.

At 2:30 A.M., the Hutchinson Police Department, Reno County EMS and the Hutchinson Fire Department were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of West 14th Ave for a female who had sustained injuries. When first responders arrived on scene, they found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries believed to have been caused by an edged weapon. She was transported to a hospital in Wichita, where she remains in critical condition.

Throughout June 2nd, 2026, residents in the area where the original incidents had occurred reported additional crimes, and Mr. Savage Dobbins was identified as the suspect.

Mr. Savage Dobbins was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment and was later released. Following his release, he was arrested on the charges listed below and transported to the Reno County Correctional Facility. These charges involve multiple victims and locations.

– Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Burglary, five counts of Attempted Aggravated Burglary, Attempted Aggravated Burglary-Domestic Violence, Felony Criminal Damage to Property, and Misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property.
