HUTCHINSON, Kan. — November 3, 2026 — Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System (HRHS) has announced two key executive leadership appointments, naming Sharon Jeffers as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and promoting Jim Black to Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Black previously served as Vice President of Human Resources since joining the organization in October 2024.

The appointments strengthen two critical areas of the health system’s operations, financial stewardship and workforce development, and reinforce HRHS’s commitment to organizational sustainability and quality healthcare throughout Reno County and the surrounding region.

“The strength of our healthcare system depends on both the people who deliver care and the resources that make that care possible,” said Benjamin Anderson, President and CEO of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System. “Sharon and Jim bring extensive experience and proven leadership in these two critical areas. Their contributions will be instrumental in strengthening our organization and advancing our mission of making health and healing available to all.”

Sharon Jeffers, Chief Financial Officer

Sharon Jeffers brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, with expertise in financial strategy, operational performance, budgeting, and organizational growth. Most recently, she served as Assistant Chief Financial Officer and System Director of Budgeting and Financial Planning at Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, where she helped oversee financial planning for a $1.2 billion healthcare system and led initiatives resulting in more than $5 million in cost savings. Prior to that, she spent more than 17 years at Denver Health, holding leadership positions in financial operations, business development and strategic planning.

As CFO, Jeffers will oversee financial operations and strategic financial planning across HRHS, helping ensure the organization remains well-positioned to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the region.

“I’m excited to join Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System and contribute to an organization with such a strong commitment to its community,” said Jeffers. “Financial stewardship plays an important role in ensuring patients have access to the care they need, close to home. I look forward to working alongside the leadership team to build on the organization’s strengths and support its long-term success.”

Jim Black, Chief Human Resources Officer

Jim Black assumed the role of Chief Human Resources Officer in September 2026, having previously served as Vice President of Human Resources since joining HRHS in October 2024.

With more than 30 years of human resources leadership experience, Black brings a strong background in talent development, employee engagement, organizational strategy, and workforce management. His career includes leadership roles with Walmart, T-Mobile, and Ascension, where he helped advance workforce initiatives and organizational performance.

In his expanded role as CHRO, Black will continue leading the health system’s human resources strategy, with a focus on attracting and retaining talent, strengthening organizational culture, and supporting the professional growth and well-being of team members across HRHS.

“Our team members are at the heart of everything we do,” said Black. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this organization in an expanded leadership capacity. My focus remains on creating an environment where our people feel valued, supported, and empowered to provide exceptional care to our patients and community.”

Together, Jeffers and Black will play important roles in advancing HRHS’s strategic priorities and supporting its continued commitment to delivering accessible, quality healthcare to the communities it serves.
