A team from the Hutchinson Fire Department was able to rescue a person who had fallen into a ditch beside a home in the 3100 block of S. Mohawk Road around 11:30am Thursday.
HFD offcials say when crews arrived the person was lying in a 9-foot deep trench beside a basement wall.
Panels were used to secure the trench walls and the person was lifted out with ropes and transported to the hospital for possible treatment.
