HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Exciting news! Westlake Ace Hardware is back with its annual Fan Drive, supporting The Salvation Army. While stocking up on hardware supplies this spring, you can donate by rounding up your purchase at the register. Every single penny given goes directly toward fans to benefit our local community! Can’t make it into the store? You can still participate by donating online at westlakehardware.com/fan-drive. Let’s come together and help those in need beat the heat! #FanDrive
Westlake Ace Hardware’s North Main location will be doing something special this Saturday, May 30. From 11:00-2:00 they will be cooking out to appreciate customers and encouraging them to donate to support the fan drive. The managers will also be manning a dunk tank to help add to the fun.
Typically, The Salvation Army gives out close to 400 fans each year, however the cost of fans have increased greatly with inflation. The Salvation Army currently has just over 100 fans on hand to get started, but they will need your help to have enough fans for those in need this season. Please help our community beat the heat this year! Again, you may donate online at westlakehardware.com/fan-drive, round up at the register, or drop a fan off at 700 N Walnut at The Salvation Army.
The local Salvation Army at 700 North Walnut will be giving out fans by appointments until the end of July. During heat advisory days, The Salvation Army will also have its doors open as a cooling center and will have bottles of water available throughout the summer. Major James said, “Summer is known to be a fun time of year with kids being out of school, and getting back to making our yards look beautiful. However, summer can be a dangerous time for many with the extreme heat that we face in Kansas.” Let’s help our neighbors be safe this summer!
