An Ellsworth man died early Saturday morning after he was struck by a pickup in Russell County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol a passenger in the truck, Aiden Moyer, lost his hat out the right front door window at 195th and Lincoln Lane, about nine miles southwest of Dorrance.
After the pickup came to a stop. Moyer exited the truck to retrieve the hat when the pickup reversed down the roadway and struck Moyer.
He was taken to Russell Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver and two other passengers were not injured.
