HUTCHINSON, Kan. — June 15, 2026 — StartUp Hutch is now accepting applications for its Rural Business Resilience & Expansion Initiative Microgrants, designed to support existing small businesses in rural Reno County communities.

Applications are now open and will be accepted on a rolling basis. Eligible small businesses may apply for microgrants of up to $2,500 to support projects that help businesses expand, activate underutilized properties, strengthen essential services, or address high-need industry gaps in rural Reno County.

The initiative is supported by a $15,000 grant from the Hutchinson Community Foundation’s Fund for Reno County. In addition to direct funding, the program is designed to provide practical, accessible support through coaching, facilitated community conversations, and local engagement.

“At StartUp Hutch, we know that small businesses are essential to the strength and resilience of rural communities,” said Graham Klemme, Executive Director of StartUp Hutch. “These microgrants are intended to help business owners take meaningful next steps, whether that means expanding services, improving a space, responding to community needs, or building long-term stability. We’re grateful to the Hutchinson Community Foundation and the Fund for Reno County for helping make this opportunity possible.”

The Rural Business Resilience & Expansion Initiative Microgrants aims to strengthen existing businesses while helping rural communities identify opportunities for growth and long-term economic resilience. Learn more and apply here: https://www.startuphutch.com/programs-and-grants
