McPherson Soccer Bounces Back with Shutout of Mulvane

MULVANE, Kan. – After a couple of tough losses to Newton and Rose Hill, the McPherson boys soccer team got back on the winning track on Thursday night with a 5-0 road shutout of Mulvane.

Jackson Martin got the scoring started with a goal in the first half and Yahir Valadez added another to put the Bullpups up 2-0 at the break.  In the second half, the Bullpups got an own goal from the Wildcats assisted by Valadez to go up 3-0.  Mason Eisenbarth and Martin both added goals in the second half as well for the 5-0 final for McPherson.

McPherson had 13 shots on goal in total, putting four of those in.  The Bullpup defense assisted goalkeeper Hunter Schroeder as he only needed one save to secure the shutout.

McPherson is now 6-4 overall and will be back at home Tuesday to host Classical School of Wichita.

Also on Thursday night, the McPherson JV made it a sweep with a 4-0 win over Mulvane.
