HUTCHINSON, Kan. – [September 14, 2026]- The Hutchinson City Council has approved Gary Meagher to serve as Interim City Manager, effective immediately.
Meagher brings more than three decades of local government experience to the role and is already familiar with the City of Hutchinson and the community. He previously served as Hutchinson’s Interim City Manager in 2022 and spent 10 years as Reno County Administrator.
Meagher will provide leadership and continuity for the organization as the City Council determines next steps for the permanent City Manager position.
“The City of Hutchinson has an experienced and dedicated team of professionals who remain focused on serving our community,” Mayor Scott Meggers said. “Gary brings a tremendous amount of local government experience and familiarity with Hutchinson, and we are confident in his ability to help lead the organization during this transition.”
