A decision by the Fredonia Regional Hospital Board to end its contract with longtime physical therapy provider Rehabilitation and Fitness Associates Inc. has drawn criticism from community members who are asking the board to reconsider. Aaron Liudahl, who has led the company for nearly 30 years, said he was disappointed by the decision and questioned whether his company was treated in accordance with the hospital’s stated values.
Patients also voiced support for Liudahl, with Becky Ramsey describing him as a compassionate and trusted provider who treats patients like family. Liudahl has secured a new partnership with Wilson Medical Center, but the change has raised concerns about continuity of care for patients who have relied on his services at Fredonia Regional Hospital.
The hospital board declined to comment on the decision, which officials said followed about a year of deliberation. The current contract with Rehabilitation and Fitness Associates is scheduled to expire September 11.
