A house fire destroyed a home just after midnight Saturday on North Dakota Road, about five miles northwest of Moran.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office says arson is suspected, and an off-duty Moran Marmaton-Osage firefighter was among the first at the scene. The nearby LaHarpe Volunteer Fire Department responded and brought the flames under control.
The house has been vacant for at least a decade. Investigators are working to determine how the fire started and are asking for information. No injuries were reported.
