Dangerous heat is draped over most of Kansas as the National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning now in effect until 9pm CDT Monday, and a Heat Advisory stays in place until 8pm Tuesday evening.

Captain Luke Hursh with the Salina Salvation Army tells Ad Astra News they are a cooling station for folks who need a place to find relief from the heat. Salina Salvation Army center is located at 1137 N Santa Fe Avenue.
Healthcare providers advise drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interior will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Try to limit strenuous activities.
