President Donald Trump landed in Salina for a GOP focused rally Sunday night and delivered a speech aimed at reelecting Republican Senator Roger Marshall. Senator Marshall and a number of Republicans including gubernatorial candidate Ty Masterson were highlighted by the President, who told the crowd he saved the best for last by ending his 30-rally run in the Sunflower State.

A number of high level Republicans were also in attendance in Salina on Sunday, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise.

President Trump once again promised Americans that if the Republicans retain control of both the House and Senate, every adult U.S. citizen would receive a $5,000 “Trump Dividend” after the midterms. The President added the pledge to part of his rally speeches in early September.

President Trump spoke for about an hour from a stage that was surrounded by supporters who were draped in red, white and blue – with a gleaming Air Force One parked on the tarmac nearby.

It was the first visit to Salina by a sitting U.S. President since 1976, when Gerald R. Ford landed at the airport with running mate Bob Dole.
