Work has begun to mill and overlay K-31 in Anderson and Linn counties, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

The project will resurface K-31 from the U.S. 59/K-31 junction east to the K-52 junction in Linn County. The project totals 17.2 miles.

A pilot car will guide one-lane traffic through sections of the work zone as work progresses. Travelers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.

Work should be done by mid-July, conditions permitting. Pearson Construction LLC, of Wichita, is the primary contractor for the project, which totals $2.5 million.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511. For updates on construction projects in southeast Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/projects/southeast-kansas-projects.
