Waterline Replacement Around Garnett Square about to begin

The city of Garnett will begin a major waterline project around the downtown square next week.

The project involves replacement of around 1,700 feet of very old and dilapidated lines, along with service lines, meters, and meter pits to businesses.

The work area will extend from 4th and Main west to 4th and Oak, then south to 5th and Oak, and east on Oak back to Main.

In preparation for the project crews will be down to vac up Main and start spotting line with city crews saw cutting road where digging will take place. During the project, which involve large equipment trucks and workers moving in and out of the area, so use caution.
