The Walker Art Committee and Garnett Tourism are excited to announce the winner of our Mural Contest, Avery Miller!
Avery Miller is the 15-year-old daughter of Amie Yoder, and resides in Welda, KS.
Avery not only won the Mural Contest but also won the Facebook “Fan Favorite” as well. Avery will receive $50 for the Facebook contest, and $500 for the Mural Contest.
In the application for the contest, we asked Avery to describe the concept and inspiration for her design, and this is what she wrote- “The concept of my mural design are buildings that make me think of Garnett, like the Courthouse, the old library, the train depot, and the Coop. I also included North Lake, which was also my inspiration”.
