Sterling College Vice President for Athletics Justin Morris announced today that head softball coach Kiera Broehl has stepped down from her position due to personal reasons.

“We are grateful for Coach K and the dedication and commitment she brought to our program this past year,” Morris said.

Broehl led a young Lady Warrior squad through a season of growth, finishing with a 14–32 overall record and a 9-17 finish in the KCAC.

“We fully support Coach K and her decision, and we wish her all the best moving forward,” Morris added. “We are committed to identifying the next leader who will have the opportunity to work with an outstanding group of returners and a strong incoming class already signed for the 2027 season.”

Assistant Coach Gwen Mikkelsen has been named the interim head coach while the College conducts a search for the program’s next leader.
