The Buhler High School varsity and junior varsity girls soccer teams posted victories over Arkansas City Thursday at Ark City.

The Buhler varsity defeated the Bulldogs 3-2 in overtime and the Crusaders JV posted a 4-0 clean sweep shutout.

Both Buhler teams improved to 5-1-1.

In the varsity game, Madi McCool scored two goals and Rory Waldren added one. Assists went to Lakin Yoder and Taylin Krafels.

“The varsity dominated most of the match but struggled to finish on some good opportunities,” said Buhler soccer coach Randall Rank. “That’s something we’ll keep working on as we continue to improve.”

The Buhler JV posted a dominant performance. Bella Morones and Payton Polk each scored two goals. Gracie Berkley added an assist.

“Shout out to (goal keeper) Bentley Roepka and the defense for earning the clean sheet,” Rank said.

Buhler was scheduled to host Wichita Collegiate in a varsity only match at 5 p.m. Friday at Crusader Stadium. That match has been postponed due to weather concerns.

Buhler hosts Rose Hill on Tuesday and plays at Winfield next Thursday.
