McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — Polls will open Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. for the McPherson USD 418 bond election.

This is a two part question: the first headlined by a new academic wing to replace the hex section of McPherson High School, which will not require a tax increase.

The second question, for which the first one also has to be approved, includes funding for the conversion of Eisenhower Elementary School into a Middle School. This part has a projected 4.75 mill property tax increase.

According to the McPherson County Clerk’s Office, just over 1,000 advanced ballots were cast prior to today’s noon deadline, with 154 if the 237 mailed ballots returned as of this afternoon. Those ballots must be received no later than 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Polls will be open until 7 p.m. Tuesday, and we’ll have results later on Ad Astra Radio and at mcphersonradio.com.
