WICHITA, Kan. — The Andale basketball teams split at Wichita Collegiate on Monday.
The Andale girls picked up a 56-29 victory over the Lady Spartans. The Andale boys fell to the Spartans, 54-46, holding the Spartans to a season-low 54 points and the closest margin of victory.
In the girls game, Andale led from wire-to-wire, leading 17-4 after the first quarter and 25-14 at halftime. Andale used an 18-4 third quarter to take a 43-18 lead. Abbi Winter led Andale with 14 points while Brooke Grimes added 13. Andale is now 14-6 and 7-2 in league play.
In the boys game, Collegiate never trailed leading 15-10 at the end of one and 26-18 at halftime. The two teams played to a 28-28 second half. Andale was able to get within three points in the first half, but not any closer. Collegiate led by as many as 17 in the game. Noah Stanley led Andale with 13 points. Andale is now 15-5 and 7-2 in league play.
Andale wraps up the regular season hosting Clearwater on Thursday.
