McPHERSON, Kan. — A garage and a vehicle parked in front of it were heavily damaged in a Friday afternoon fire in the 800 block of North Grimes.
McPherson Fire Chief Chad Mayberry said fire units, along with police and EMS, were dispatched at 2:15 PM after passers-by noticed smoke coming from a two car detached garage behind a residence. Two engines initially responded with additional units brought in to assist in extinguishing the fire.
Damage was limited to the garage, its contents and the vehicle, with no injuries reported.
An area of origin was found by fire investigators and police, but the exact cause of the fire was not able to be determined, though Chief Mayberry said no foul play is suspected.
