Nickerson High School senior wrestler Kristopher Monroe Jr. posted his 100th career victory in front of the hometown fans Friday at the Nickerson Boys Invitational.
Monroe placed first in the 165-pound weight class. Also placing first for the Panthers were Aiden Brinkley at 120 pounds,
Haven’s Tanner Loughrie placed first at 132 pounds and Halstead’s Logan Overton won the 190-pound weight class.
Nickerson won the team title. Maize placed second and Smoky Valley placed third.
Smoky Valley’s Rette Krehbiel, who placed first at 138 pounds, was named Most Outstanding Male Wrestler the tournament. Teammates Bradon Paxton (126 pounds) and Parker Gardner (215 pounds) also placed first.
