HUTCHINSON, Kan.,   StartUp Hutch will host its first Small Town, Big Ideas entrepreneurship workshop in Buhler on Tuesday, December 16, offering hands-on training, practical business guidance, and direct connections to local resources for entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey. The event will run from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at the 1888 Room, 215 N. Main, Buhler, KS.

The workshop is part of a countywide effort made possible through support from the Hutchinson Community Foundation’s Fund for Reno County. Funding from the Community Foundation is helping StartUp Hutch bring entrepreneurship training and tools directly into communities such as Haven, Pretty Prairie, Buhler, and Nickerson, expanding access to business education and mentorship across Reno County.

Designed for both aspiring and experienced small business owners, the Buhler workshop will cover a wide range of topics essential to starting, operating, and growing a business, including:

  • Understanding the fundamentals of entrepreneurship
  • Exploring legal and financial considerations for business formation
  • Learning practical marketing and operational strategies
  • Accessing support resources available through StartUp Hutch
  • Understanding how small businesses strengthen local economies
  • Planning for long-term sustainability and growth

Participants will also hear insights from an experienced guest entrepreneur and have opportunities to collaborate with peers, ask questions, and make valuable connections within the local business community.

“Supporting small businesses is critical to the long-term vitality of our rural communities,” said Graham Klemme, Executive Director of StartUp Hutch. “The Small Town, Big Ideas series allows us to meet entrepreneurs where they are—right in their hometowns—and give them the tools, confidence, and connections they need to succeed. Thanks to the support of the Hutchinson Community Foundation, we are able to expand these efforts throughout Reno County.”

The workshop is free to attend, and advance registration is encouraged.
