LINDSBORG, Kan. — The Lindsborg Old Mill and Swedish Heritage Museum was notified earlier this week they need to have the remaining just over $40,000 in Community Service Tax Credits committed no later than October 25.
Any remaining tax credits unclaimed by that date will be reallocated by the Kansas Department of Commerce to other projects. These credits have been used to fund stabilization of the 1904 Swedish Pavilion at the complex, with remaining credits going towards replacement of its roof.
While they don’t have to have the donations in hand by that date, they do need to be able to show they have at least written commitments or pledges for the remaining 17 percent of available credits, which offer donors a 70 percent credit on their state tax return for what they give.
