Kansas Board of Regents Releases 2025 Fall Preliminary Enrollment Summary

The Fall Preliminary (20th Day) Enrollment Summary was released on Oct. 1 by the Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR). 

According to the KBOR, fall semester enrollment at Kansas’ 19 community colleges was up by eight tenths of a percent from last fall.

Allen Community College fall enrollment as of the 20th day benchmark as reported by the Kansas Board of Regents at 1,818 students is down two percent from a year ago, while Neosho County Community College’s fall enrollment at 1,715 students was down 9 percent.

The highest and lowest percentage increases in enrollment were both in southeast Kansas, Coffeyville Community College seeing a 11.4 percent increase and Fort Scott Community College a 17.2 percent decline.

Independence Community College, Kansas’ smallest Community College, saw its enrollment drop by 4.3 percent with Labette Community College up by 1.5 percent. Flint Hills Technical College saw its 20th day enrollment increase by 2.3 percent.

Among the six state universities, Pittsburg State University is reporting a slight increase in overall enrollment for the fall semester, with the incoming freshman class up 12 percent. Total enrollment of 5,803 is up 229 students from a year ago, with retention of first year students, new transfer students, and persistence of sophomores to their junior year also up.

At Emporia State University 20th day fall semester enrollment is up by 5.8 percent, reversing five consecutive years of enrollment declines.

Fall semester enrollment at K-State was up 4.6 percent, KU up 1.2 percent, and Wichita State up 4.3 percent while Fort Hays State University saw a drop of two tenths of a percent in their day 20 enrollment.
