13 Warriors Earn NCCAA Spring Scholar Athlete Recognition

STERLING, Kan. – The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) proudly announces the 2025-26 NCCAA Scholar-Athletes for spring sports. This honor recognizes student-athletes in each of the spring sports who have excelled academically, including men’s and women’s outdoor track and field, baseball and softball.

To qualify as an NCCAA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale, be a junior, senior or graduate student academic standing making normal progress toward a degree, have completed at least one semester at the nominating institution and be a competing student-athlete in the sport for which nominated.

Sterling College had 13 student-athletes earn this prestigious honor. The honorees span a diverse array of sports, reflecting the broad scope of talent and dedication among Sterling College’s athletes. Baseball led the way for the Warriors with nine athletes including Jackson Califano, Aaron Elsasser, Joshua Garcia, Matthew Garcia, Cooper Lovelace, Jason Smith, Michael Tweed, Jace Phillips and Landon Volner. Softball was represented by Mallory Seidel and Madison Hedgecock while women’s outdoor track and field featured Aliya McClanahan and Audrey Blake.
