Hesston College junior first baseman Kaleb Wise was named Continental Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week on April 27.
Wise led the Larks in a series win over Champion Christian, hitting five home runs across four games. He opened the series with three home runs and five RBIs in a 9-8 win, then added two more home runs in a 7-4 victory in Saturday’s doubleheader.
The Newton, Kan., native finished the week with six runs scored and seven RBIs. His five home runs pushed his season total to 15, setting a new Hesston single-season record and passing Sean Maple’s previous mark of 13 set in 2022.
Wise closed the season hitting .322 with a 1.166 OPS and 42 RBIs in 115 at-bats.
