On a night parts of Kansas turned blue, Lori Shultz of Lindsborg garnered nearly 70-percent of the votes cast in McPherson County to return to Topeka to represent District 73.

Shultz spoke Tuesday evening to her supporters at an election watch party in McPherson. “I am honored to have the opportunity to represent the citizens of McPherson County,” Shultz said. “I thank you for your tremendous support.”

Shultz received 5,665 votes for a total of 67% of votes cast for a win over Democrat challenger Bobby Joe Robertson.

In 2024 Lori Shultz served out the term of Representative Les Mason after his death.

Shultz, who was endorsed by Mary Jean Eisenhower, grand-daughter of President Dwight Eisenhower, will take office when the legislative session begins on January 11, 2027.
