The 31st Judicial District Nominating Commission will interview Moran attorney Brett Heim to fill the vacant Allen County Magistrate Judge position June 29th.
The interview, which will be done by Zoom, is tentatively set for 9:30 AM. The Committee meet via Zoom Thursday morning and discussed options for proceeding.
While the nominating commission could have made a decision to select Heim now or solicit additional applications, it agreed to meet with Heim prior to making it’s choice which the Commission’s non-voting chair. Kansas Supreme Court Justice Larkin Walsh, recommended for transparency purposes.
The commission was also informed during the meeting they will soon have a district judge position to fill in Wilson County, as current District Judge David Rogers is retiring at the end of his current term.
